I don't think it's aggro based, because I shot only one bullet with pistols at him, while my teammates kept shooting him and I still got attacked.

I've got tanks off plenty of times by telling them not to shoot while I melee the tank.

This is starting to sound like a fucking watered down RPG game.

"OH STOP SHOOTING IT SO THAT I GET THE THREAT ON IT AND YOU DON'T DIE."

Taking strategy games to a whole new level. First-person shooters have REALLY evolved since the days of "*shoots gun* BOOM YOU DEAD." days of DOOM 1.

MOLTOUVS HEREE

he just sounds so fucking husky when he does that.

yeah flame rapes tank, especially in an open space where you can run like fuck away from him too.

After struggling with FPS and having to turn everything to low to get 60+, I realised I didn't need to. Keep shader at medium and turn everything (effects maybe not) back to high and put some anti aliasing on that beast.

I hate shadows in game. They distract me and make all the computers I've ever used cry.

Granted, all the computers I've ever used have sucked ass lol.

Over medium it isn't even shadows, it's all liquidy effects which is strange to me.

Low shader

http://www.imagocentre.com/images/40/l4 ... 000_30.jpg

Medium shader, looks good

http://www.imagocentre.com/images/40/l4 ... 004_31.jpg

High shader, looks great but what is with the lighting on the skin, projects shadows too

http://www.imagocentre.com/images/40/l4 ... 005_32.jpg

Very High shader, what is the difference?

--

Shader includes bump maping, shadows AND motion blur, I'm not pleased that I can't disable stuff like shadows and motion blur to get that delicious bump maping in textures.

I just tested with net_graph 1, and it seems my fps is actually 35-45. Faulty X-Fire estimated FPS to be around 90. :?

1-5 fps boost with it on and lack of choking, for Stefan he needs it off (lol single core).

This is why I want the bump maping, a sweaty gabe boomer :<

High shader

http://www.imagocentre.com/images/40/l4 ... 025_34.jpg
Medium shader

fuck l4d's lack of tweaking.

Bump-mapping is wicked, but seriously, is it even CLASSED as shading? Separate options would be nice regardless. For any game.

You can't even turn down the model quality without turning down texture quality.

What driver version do you have ?

Don't forget to check around in the Nvidia control panel if you have a nvidia card. It turns on/off random things such as multiple display optimization.

Try updating to 185.85 drivers from Nvidia website, see if it helps.

Thanks, I updated drivers and this combined with Clix's autoconfig idea I've managed to get smooth 19-35 fps in stress and 45-50 in clear areas with every option on high with 4x anti aliasing.
