No actually.. Every PSN hosted PS3 game has dedicated servers. Connection is solid.

A mate of mine has the perk to enable two add-ons to your gun. Laser sight and a silencer is a lethal combination!

You mean holographic?, it adds more sticky aim to console versions.

I've only played a few games on multiplayer, what's the difference between laser and holographic? I've used both but couldn't seem to find anything different only the actual look of them! Do you mean sticky aim as in like the crosshair following an enemy slightly?

Yes, aim assist. Holographic is confirmed for helping that work better.

I've got a mixed feeling after playing the singleplayer.

It's definitely rich for special effects, scripted scenes and it has a pretty much adventerous, unusual story.

But on the other hand, it's so damn short. Good thing I've paid only €14 for it (still pretty pricy for this place by the way), but I find it absolutely ridiculous that they ask €60+ for four raw hours of gameplay in other countries. (I realize it has a multiplayer, but I don't want to play it! I've bought it only for the SP).

Secondly, it's unrealistic. I mean it's not Crysis where your extraordinary vitality against continuous shower of bullets of countless hordes of enemies can be explained by a super bullet-proof costume which entirely covers your body. In MW2 a player, just a regular special forces soldier, is supposed to stand in the middle of an area and shoot enemies one by one. This strategy works better than hiding in trees, lying on the ground in an ambush and avoiding bullets. (Tried, not so much successful). Of course the enemies pretend to hide, otherwise the game would have been absolutely boring.

For example, "Roach, place the mines on the east pathway of the house" (might sound different in English version of the game) — the task was given while the house was already surrounded by a fucking army of enemies that tried to break in. Of course I could run outside, catch a dozen of bullets (which would blur the vision) and happily complete the goal. But what kind of realism is that?

Thirdly, AI is stupid. They do exactly what you're supposed to do: stand uncovered in the middle of an area and shoot, except that they never hit. Sometimes I confuse them for enemies, because they ignore nearby enemies. For example, in one of the last missions, the enemy was hiding and shooting from behind of a tree, and team member "Ghost" was doing the same... behind the same tree

Fourthly, Hans Zimmer is a great composer, I like Pirates of the Caribbean and The Pledge soundtracks but grievous and a little pompous orchestral music gets repetative on the background of *every* mission.

Why does COD have a penchant for stealing ideas from movies?

For example, in COD4 - the Cobra down part was almost a direct line from the movie Black Hawk Down which is in a similar environment.

In COD5 the entire mission where you're in a fountain and shooting Germans while waiting for the planes to fly overhead so as to silence the gunshot - complete idea rip from Enemy at the Gates.

And the subtle hints in MW2 - "This is the wild west" referring to Black Hawk Down in one of the first missions, and the Russian invasion + mission title WOLVERINES! referring to Red Dawn.

I dunno, I just kinda don't like it.

I see. When I heard it I couldn't think of something better than possibly Rangers originating from wild west.

I fucking loved that movie, also

Delta Force Black Hawk Down is the best war singleplayer experience, no more needs to be said

EDIT:

In fact, when you complete DF:BHD you get a single SUPER HARD final mission to play through as a specialist. I never made the connection in my head before but hurrpityderp Mile High Club anybody?

EDIT EDIT:

Anyone play it? Remember the final mission, Irene (Before the black op mission)? That was 10 times more awesome than the end of MW2. Maybe it's because I was 10 and that film moved me like few others had, but roping down in Mogadishu was one hell of an experience. RPG RPG RPG AHFAGHAGAHG

The story was p.cash even though on Vet it took me about 7 hours.

I think I spent more time on the fucking Pripyat Wheel than I did finishing MW2

Yeah, that perk is called "Bling". It allows two attachments on any primary. When you upgrade it to Bling Pro, you can have two attachments on your secondary's as well.

I mean.. Single player is neat and fun, but I buy it for the multiplayer.

Only for sniping though. It doesn't help much that other snipers do not show up heat sensitive, although you would be killed just as easily if you weren't as well.

Thermal sight was kind of a disappointment

I was expecting colors and red/blue/green spectrum for heat, Rainbow Six style
