SO.
I played the demo for the first time about an hour ago, and must say that for the most part, I was quite impressed.
Being that I haven't played the single player yet, I still can't say much. However, the multilayer had me instantly hooked.
I liked the fact that there were no normal game modes. Yes, that's right.
There is only one available game mode in the demo in which, yourself, and 7-11 others are put into a "heist" scenario. You all must take out an opposing mob (AI) and take their thousands of dollars worth of cash.
During this adventure you will run into a combinations of civilians, and police as well (AI). The whole objective is to make it all the way through the map alive, and to escape in your getaway van with as much cash as possible in any way possible.
What I mean by any way possible, is that you can turn on your heist team (of actual players). For instance, go up to a player, and use him as a human shield to turn around and blast away at another player, etc.
When you kill one of your team mates, you can take his cash. The catch is.. YOU are now labeled as a "Traitor". Being so, your name is orange, and every player can see where you are. So NOW you have to focus on..
A) GTFO
B) Kill more players/NPC's, take cash, then GTFO
If you manage to get away in your van as a traitor, then you'll pretty much win (being that you will have so many millions in the end). Being a traitor is not easy at all though. Every player will be after you, and if anyone see's you attempt to mug a team mate, you will usually be gunned down by 2-3 former buddies. In which case, you spectate other players whilst dead.
NOW.
As for the player that was killed BY the traitor.
You will now have the option to play as a cop. Cop's won't make millions by the end, but will instead make bonuses killing...
1# Traitors
2# Those that have killed x number of cops
3# Those that have killed x number of civilians
This can be used as a vengeance (depends if you suck or not imo) to kill the traitor, that had killed you. In killing the traitor that killed you, you will also receive a large bonus.
By the end of the round, you can use your earned cash to buy weapons for the next round to help you out even more.
The multiplayer is much fun, and very addicting.
-There is a cover system (with blindfire, etc.)
-Camera whilst running is very unique (I actually love it). Makes it seem
like an actual chase scene out of a movie.
-Only con I found really were the character movement animations. A tad
buggy (although it was the demo), and it looks a bit odd in spectator
mode.
-There is quite a bit of environmental interaction (e.g. taking an extinguisher off the wall, throwing it at something/someone, and then shooting it to have it blow up)
Play for yourselves though. I loved it.
*I do still wish that lo would stop facking around and develop the next installment of Hitman.
