To get the idea of scale in the first screenshot, see this picture with NPCs marked red.
In the third screenshot you can see Russian conversations for the Paris missions. Note the total amount of pages — that is about 1/3 of all texts in the mod.

I think partially because the development of 2027 had started long before UEd2 for DX was released, partially because UEd2 does not support models & scripts in Deus Ex format (2027 uses custom DeusEx.u and introduces a lot of new models), partially because Ded simply got used to it.
I believe some of the maps with terrain have been designed in UEd3 though.
To avoid any disappointment in the future: there will no voice acting in Project: 2027.
The only voiced parts are bots and some of the cutscenes, such as this one (note: this is in Russian):
The voice belongs to Denton, my friend and co-founder of PlanetDeusEx.ru, I believe it was recorded purely as an experiment in ~2004 at a studio in St. Petersburg.
Also, found this:

I can't imagine how much work you guys have done with all the custom art assets and coding and all. (the screenshots are jaw-dropping) Deus Ex mods are so rare these days, and it looks like you guys are serious about hanging in there until the end. Keep up the good work!!!

Minimal voice acting doesn't bother me really, considering the mod is fantastic.
However I do think the game would lose it's atmosphere without the voice acting.
Hell. I'll do the English voice acting is Ded want's. I can do a variety of accents and voices.
I've done acting, performing since I was a wee lad up until a couple years ago.
