I'm starting to lose my rag over the way the media treats Liverpool.

We've won a trophy, we're well in the hunt for a second trophy and now everyone in the media is trying to say we're having a horrible season for not finishing in the top four.

So let's put this into perspective, Chelsea could possibly win the CL, and the FA Cup, and finish in the top 4, but none of this is garunteed, some people are even trying to tell me ARSENAL are having the best season out of us three?

What defines success? Does winning trophies mean nothing nowadays as Champions League outshines them all? Why complain about us not winning anything for years, only to start complaining about not having CL football when we finally do?

What do we have to do to stop with this criticsm, win the Quadruple?

This has been bugging me too, but to be fair a league cup is not much to go by unfortunatly (althought I'm very happy we won that already and are very much in contest for the FA cup aswell)
I think if we win the FA cup then there will be some humbleness from the media.
Untill the next draw or defeat that is, ofcourse.

Either way I'm not assed what the media says tbh

I'd happily trade the Carling Cup and the Semi Final spot of the FA Cup for a Champions League place to be fair. The CL spot is crucial in attracting top talents, as well as financial properity, especially now the Financial Fair Play rules are out. If we where in the Champions League, it would be worth £50million+ more a year. We're not going to finish there this season though

, and it looks like we need heavy investment again to match the ambition of finishing there.

Unfortunatly, for the price tags, some of our signings have been poor.

I can see what your saying, and i agree in many aspects, i'd love to get into the Champions League, but its wrong for people to say that winning a trophy isn't successful, even more so if we were lucky enough to win the FA Cup, maybe we didn't get into the Champions League, but winning one/two trophies is still a success and should be recognised as such.

If we were to win the FA cup it would be a succesful season still, imo. Given that reaching the Champions League might profit the club more in a financial way and that it attracts players is also true, but if we were to win the FA cup aswell it would show the progress we've already made. It means we do have the talent to win, and we might "do one better" next season reaching top 4. I didn't expect immidiate results from Kenny to be fair, even though the last half of last season promised some good things, we're not Chelsea that gives the manager 1 season to give us results, we're pretty much rebuilding, and winning 1 or 2 trophies in the first full season would be a great succes in that respect.

I'd settle for an FA cup win for sure. Champion's League progress is a bonus too. Always prefered the cup tournament format, more interesting.

Cruyff has a history of arguing with managers of clubs he has been DoF at, but maybe the attraction to Cruyff is his name, and the fact that players who are detered from Liverpool due to lack of CL football, might be lured by the great name of Cruyff and KK.
