I agree totally with all of that!

Yes DMC does have a storyline, similer to the begining of SH2 actually...
A demon lord that Dante's father has defeated 1000 years ago risen again 10/20 years before (Dante hardly remembers) the game takes place and killed his mother and his brother: Virgil.
A lone woman comes into Dante's agency building called: Devil May Cry, she asks him to do a job of her, to kill a certian demon...He first refuses then they get into a little fight, she reveals that the demon is the same one that his father banished 1000 years in the past and killed his family, so he takes up the offer, arrives at the castle on the isolated Island to find this dark lord...Thats how much of the story your getting!

That gives the reason to play this fantastic game hehehehe, the gameplay is the main factor of the game

but its story is very short and simple, DMC 3 promises the same kind of gameplay as DMC1 but greater and a big story explaining how he realised his powers (As it of course is a prequel).

I'm sure you didn't want to know that much but meh!
