I wouldn't really classify Opeth as death metal, to be honest. Certainly not your stereotypical death metal anyway, too many of those acoustic interludes. I guess Opeth always manage to stir up some kind of controversy anyway.

Tomsk: I have no idea where are forums have gone. I haven't spoken to monkee in a while, but I doubt he had much to do with this.

Beethoven's music sounds so great because he was deaf. He therefore made the peices incredibly grand, overwhelming and LOUD!!!

Also, I feel that some of them completely captured his character. He was an incredibly bitter and short tempered man, who suffered from many many illnesses. Also, his own nephew, whilst living with Beethoven, attempted suicide because Beethoven made life a living hell for him.

He shot himself in the head, and survived. Beethoven never forgave himself, and died shortly after.

AND SO I CONCLUDE.

Oh, and wait.
Beethoven's pieces sound better and nicer, but there has never EVER been any other composer who has been able to match J.S. Bach's sheer complexity and ingenuity when it comes to quick pieces. His harpsichord pieces are especially fast and complex - so technically amazing it is almost untrue.

Beethoven is more simplistic, and as I said, loud, making it appeal more to most ears.
