I just noticed if I host dedicated and then go into my server it immediantly shuts the server down, but it's fine if I don't use MMUI!

I figured out why. I had a custom script I made awhile ago, and had this set in DeusEx.ini:
[URL]
Class=VodunsHUD.MyJC

It works fine without MMUI, and it dosn't use it in my server.
But with MMUI I guess I have to change it, so I put it to:
[URL]
Class=DXMTL152b1.MTLJCDenton

Anyone get that problem, then you should now know why.

For hosting purposes i use stand-alone DXMP version. You may just use a separate .ini (add to query/as a shortcut parameter to DeusEx.exe ?ini=mynew.ini).

Brilliant work Alex and Team... I could see scrollbars and many servers!!!

After I installed version 144, I could see scroll bars and many many servers.

Today, after upgrading Firefox and Firewall I downloaded new MMU 160.
BUT now, my server list shows no scrollbars, now shows only about 6-8 servers, mostly 0-aug, FGS-Augged shows and DXMS show, but Deja's servers and Altfire are gone...

If I set bcombinemasterservers = True, I see only DXMTL.EU servers (I think.)

If I set bcombinemasterservers = False, I see exactly the same number of servers as before, only now, I can see the button for switching between masterservers...

So, either set False or True, I have lost about half the servers on my list... including Altfire and Beginner's...

Also when I look at my ini, I notice Gamespy, Fragaholic and DXMTL.EU are present...

may I post my ini in case it is necessary...sorry for trouble... Also I noticed some file in my system Folder which mentions dxalpha.com.... so I attach that too... it's also called "Deus Ex"...

Have I installed MMU160 wrongly somehow?

Set bCombineMasterServers to True, and it should work, and I noticed that there are less servers in general. And about the dxalpha.com part, that piece of script checks if your current version of MMUI is up to date

Yes more servers appear when US players start playing than during GMT daytime...

This is set TRUE

If I set false I see exactly the same thing...

The strange thing is, on the same day, ten minutes earlier with version 4.4 I could see over 20 servers and scrollbars...

I heard a player state that "STEAM's new release of DX may have something to do with some servers disappearing."

I was thinking since 144 Version was so wonderful for me, I could try it again? Sometimes everyone is on BEGINNERS server, it's a little frustrating...

May I say FXXK Deja and his "project"...

Here's version 140, the one I use. It doesn't check for updates, and everything works like a charm.

At the moment it seems that GameSpy masterserver is offline, therefore those who use bCombineServers=true may see only servers connected to dxmtl.eu.
I can't ping master0.gamespy.com either.

Sanctuary - what version of MMU do you have?

EDIT: BINGO!!!! I just saw 24 Servers!!!! Version 4 works the best for me then...

ShadowRunner, there is no difference between the results of 160 and 140. I just tried them both, and both only showed servers that are on the FGS masterserver. Master0.GameSpy.com is offline. I have ping'ed it aswell, and got a packetloss of 100%.

You may use 140, I don't really care, but I advice to use 160, because it has parallel connections, thus making it faster. It is just slow right now, because one of the masterservers is down.

U cant have alrighty and MMuser at same time. But i got a solution my friend. A Serverstarter.

Copy this into a .txt file, then change the file to .bat, then just click it to run a remote server, with alrighty game, then just change ur deusex.ini to the UserInterface, and u can still run ur dx server with alrightygame.

Code: Select all: DeusEx.exe DXMP_RPGCity?Game=AlrightyGameV3.AlAdvTeam?-server?log=server.log

This code alone is enough to run a server from the .bat.
Change the gametype part if u want a Deathmatch, just check the alrighty readme for gametype codes.

Hope this little info helps, i know it works cus i am running it right now :lol:

But you just run an .exe, so I dunno what files/alterations it created/placed/made/altered/deleted/erased/changed/re-named/ate, etc.

Provided you still have the readme for DXMTL, I recommend deleting/moving anything with MMUserInterface in its name, then follow the installation instructions for DXMTL again, subbing the default player class info for the MMUI ones.
